Now, it's just a square with three horizontal dots on it. The little Q icon in the top right (I'm running GNOME) no longer shows up. Qfinder Pro takes about 5 minutes to load (I'm on a 9900k with three NVMe's in RAID 0 averaging about 3500mb/s, this program opened faster than sound on the first boot, and now it's painfully slow), once it finally start to load, the entire computer is almost unusably slow. Then I tried to use Qfinder Pro so I could just open the NAS from there to open it in the browser, figured maybe the IP changed or something and that's why the browsers aren't working, no luck. I just can't delete anything off of it for some reason or access the login page through the browser. I can still access the NAS through the network using Nautilus so I know I have access, I know it's working, I can drag and drop files to and from the NAS as if it's an external HDD over the network. Can't connect, won't let me even give me the login page. I was going through the NAS with Nautilus and there was a folder I no longer need (Windows software), so I tried to delete it, and it told me I don't have authorization to delete the folder, so I tried going to the NAS IP in the browser so I can just delete that folder with the web interface. Now today, it's completely broken and I didn't touch anything, computer wasn't even on. Shut down the computer and went about my day. I was copying some files from the NAS to my new clean install of Pop!_OS. I'm still trying to figure out if there any huge deal breakers with windows 11, can't find one big hurdle for me just yet.I'm running Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS and I installed Qfinder Pro. if anyones on the fence about win11, this is one less thing to worry about. While i'm doing this testing for windows 11, just to inform, smb access to the nas works for both qnap and truenas. I use both the standard windows explorer and teracopy. copy from ts-877, then from the desktop pc, copy to the tbs-453dx. transfer from ts-877 to tbs-453dx using the windows 11 pc as an intermediary.Ģ. also i have system restores just in case.īy the way the transfer tests i did is 2 typesġ. I can only narrow this down to a windows 11 misconfiguration, although i can't pinpoint which settings exactly.Īnyway now i am slowly progressively tweaking some settings, and testing every now and then to see if i accidentally land on a land mind. But we can rule out hardware and cable issues. How the issue started in first place, no idea. maybe cauz i have to restart first (i'll check this later) My last theory that somehow the mullvad vpn app was causing this issue, but even after installing it, it worked fine. Also the issue i was having with TBS-453DX has been resolved. Then i tested networks, and sure enuff the NAS and devices on network is detected. then finally i did the windows11 bloatware remover script, but i was careful not to select anything that may impact the networking features. For good measure i also ran malwarebytes and the windows defender scan just in case. I tried earlier doing network reset and all that, but nothing helped. So i'm gonna try a windows 11 reset and see if that solves the issue. The issue is when trying to transfer folders/files from the device. I mean, i can access the nas QTS web login, and also the share directory path. transfers to the TBS-453DX was working.īut currently, ts-877 works, but for some reason the TBS-453DX doesn't. detect nas on network in "network" devices on network and the nas listedĢ. because i remember clearly being able toġ. So i'm thinking that one of the changes i did caused this. I also tried changing the ethernet cable, and also trying a different port, no improvement on desktop. although because it used wireless, obviously the performance isn't that gr8, but at least it moves and it completed. so i performed the same test (because they are different machines, i wanted to check whether the issue is win11 or device specific), and it worked fine. I was trying to follow some trouble shoot guides, but i'm not sure that it's wise or even necessary to even enable smb1. but to troubleshoot, i reset network and that seemed to have ironed out whatever misconfiguration i had doneĪnyone had similar issues or different ones? just wondering at one point, even the transfer performance on the ts-877 felt slow not sure y. i just mention it here anyway just in caseģ. however i suspect this issue is most likely due to a bad cable. accessing a different qnap nas model, tbs-453dx, i had very slow transfer speed. but despite that, using a manual shortcut i can still access the nas and perform the transfers as per usual.Ģ. meaning that i may see the nas show in network discovery, but other times it's missing. the network discovery sometimes works, and sometimes it doesn't. Is it just me or is anyone else having issues with windows 11?ġ.
